If no news reaches the Ibanez front, the most likely alternative to trying to generate income is the sacrifice of a winger. With the arrival of Christensen, the players available for Mou 7 are now – in addition to the Dane, there are Celik, Karsdorp, Spinazzola, Fenha, Zalewski and El Shaarawy – and in the club’s plans, at least two are destined to be sold. Among these there are certainly Karsdorp and Viña, two names that nevertheless risk not having enough resources to move more easily on the market (in case a really interested team reveals itself). A situation that leads Trigoria’s top management to contemplate a possible farewell to Zalewski: Despite enjoying Mourinho’s unconditional esteem, in fact, the boy brought up in Giallorossi’s nursery risks being the only name capable of securing a substantial income. The Class of 2002 has a valuation of around 20m, which could come from the Premier League or the Bundesliga (such as Aston Villa, Brighton and Bayer Leverkusen). At the moment, there are no ongoing negotiations, but if the situation related to Ibanez does not change, the sale of the number 59 could quickly turn into a more than concrete scenario. Spinazzola is also on the list of potential starters, but in this case the thirty-year-old’s £3m salary – his contract expires in a year – nips any potential negotiations in the bud.
