The world championships, in particular, will feature Edoardo Mangiarotti: on Tuesday the city of Milan dedicated a plaque to the great fencing champion who won 13 Olympic medals and 26 world championships. The work is set in Via Solferino, outside what was the hero’s home until his death in 2012, and also the seat of the Mangiarotti sword club, one of the oldest and most famous in Italy.
