The wait is over, the first medals will be awarded starting tomorrow at the World Fencing Championships scheduled to be held in Mico Milan until July 30th. There are 12 world titles on display, 116 countries represented and 27 Azzurri on the podium for the most important event of the season, as well as in terms of Olympic qualification at the Paris 2024 Games. Sold out for the occasion, Allianz Mico will be the venue for the tournament returning to Italy for the eighth time, and the first in the Lombard capital, twelve years after the Catania 2011 edition.

Mattarella

It starts with the first three days of individual competitions (in the last three days, team competitions) in which medals are awarded. At 8.30, the women’s main draw is scheduled to be played by four blue women coached by coach Dario Chiado: Rossella Fiamingo, Federica Isola, Mara Navarria and Alberta Santuccio. From 10.10 places instead to the men’s sword, with the four athletes of coach Nicola Zanotti Luca Coratoli, Michele Gallo, Riccardo Nuccio and Luigi Samelli. At 17.25, the opening ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella. New sponsor

Meanwhile, the Fencing Federation has signed a new agreement with Freccia Rossa as the main sponsor in the course that will lead the national team from the World Cup in Milan and throughout the qualifying path to the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris 2024. The partnership was signed by Francesco Marciano, Head of AV Operations of Trenitalia and ISF President Paolo Azzi.
