[ad_1]

Most European markets record double digit growth in the share of electric vehicle sales, particularly the Netherlands (+90.1%), Germany (+64.4%) and France (+52%). Between January and June, there were 703,856 electric vehicle registrations, up 53.8% from the same period in 2022.

double-digit growth

The entire auto market continues to grow by double digits. In Europe, EFTA countries and the United Kingdom, 1,265,678 cars were sold in June, an increase of 18.7% over the same month in 2022, bringing the semester total to 6,588,937, an increase of 17.6% over the same period last year. Improvements in recent months indicate that the European auto industry is recovering from supply disruptions caused by the pandemic. However, semi-annual volumes are 21% lower than in 2019.

revenge

Despite this being the 11th positive figure in a row, Centro Studi Promotor’s president, Gian Primo Quagliano, speaks of recovery because the market is still at levels far from those before the crisis triggered by the pandemic. Quagliano points out that the increase in sales is due to delays in deliveries in recent months, while the flow of new orders is declining. The EU cannot just dictate, but must take responsibility for the economic problems that the transition will entail for the vast majority of motorists, Centro Studi Promotor president underlines. Most European markets grew significantly in the first six months of the year: Spain (+24%), Italy (+22.8%), France (+15.3%) and Germany (+12.8%). The only market declining is the Hungarian market (-1.4%).

Italy post cars with plug

In Italy for the market – explains Unrae – it still occupies the last place in the prevalence of plug-in cars, even if the share continues to rise slowly and reaches 9.8%, with electric cars (Bev) at 4, 4% and hybrids ( Phev) at 5.4%. An authentic discussion, rather than an afterthought, with all the players in the supply chain at the auto table is desirable, to which the long-awaited call does not seem so close yet, says Managing Director Andrea Cardinale. In the European market, Stellantis (The Panda is the best-selling model in Italy) by 2.5% in June and by 1.3% in the half-year with a share of 17.4% compared to 19.4% in the same period of 2022.
