Tour of Reggio Calabria, there will also be the Bennati national team

The City Cycling Tour of Reggio Calabria is back on the calendar after 11 years of absence: a rendezvous on Sunday 16 April. A very interesting route from a top and technical point of view: 162.4 km with an altitude of 1800 metres. A lot of starters are still being decided, even if among the confirmed teams there are already world tour, professional lineups and continental lineups. A qualified participation, with athletes partly from the Giro di Sicilia, which will make the outcome of the race particularly uncertain and exciting, featuring challenging climbs to activate the athletes’ imaginations, but also space for the chasers to recover. The technical organization of the Reggio Calabria Metropolitan City cycling tour has been entrusted by the Professional Cycling League to Extragiro, a company run by Marco Celeri and Marco Pavarrini.

There will also be the national team of coach Daniele Bennati: “We will have a young national team at the start. The non-excessive distance allows you to deploy a team with even 19-20-year-olds. In Italy we are experiencing a change of generations, but the FCI is doing well with the youth I think we will be back at a high level soon.”
