The signatories, in addition to not distinguishing between the role of the General Union for social representation and the role of political forces inside and outside Parliament, are effectively attacking the only organized reality that exists in the field against the destructive project of differentiated self-government, accompanied by a presidency that will transform our parliamentary democracy and our institutional system into an authoritarian presidential republic that is not representative of the country. CGIL understands the dire consequences with regard to the unity and social cohesion of the country, and the implications for national wages and contracts, for the National Health Service and the public education system, for social and labor rights. Signatories should know that the mobilization of Cgil Cisl Uil in recent weeks is affected by difficulties in the relationship with the world of work, and by the differences that exist precisely on the issues involved. It is no coincidence that differentiated autonomy was not mentioned in the program of claims against the government, as CGIL would have liked.

The unreasonable divisions between the democratic left and the anti-fascist front, and a distorted and anti-democratic election law, wanted by the center-left and never changed after the parliamentarians were interrupted, handed the country over to the worst right, which today can practice a parliamentary dictatorship.

The battle is not easy Because in recent decades, the left has lost its historical references, identity, and the battle for cultural hegemony in the country. Today, this gap has widened and could lead to the collapse of the institutional framework on which our parliamentary democracy is based.
