Patrick Zaki was sentenced to three years in prison. This was announced by one of the activists’ lawyers at the conclusion of today’s session in Mansoura, Egypt. The comment by Riccardo Nuri, a spokesperson for Italian Amnesty, who described the three-year prison sentence on Twitter as “the worst possible scenario”.
Patrick Zaki’s main lawyer announced his appeal: “We will ask the military governor to cancel the sentence or retrial,” Hoda Nasrallah said in an interview with ANSA in front of the Justice Building.
